Frank Lloyd Wright’s Unity Temple in Oak Park, Illinois, is the ‘nec plus ultra’ destination for architecture buffs. The modern masterpiece, the architect's first public commission, is the subject of a feature film, available for streaming, with none other than Brad Pitt as the narrator. Talking us through both the original design and the challenges of the restoration, director Laurent Levine offered in a statement. “I hoped to convey a window into Wright’s mind, beyond the often repeated autobiographical mainstream material, so we could better understand Wright’s guiding philosophy and intent that his buildings reflect the people who use them”.
